(Ramesh Lamsal) Kathmandu, Feb 20: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi today jointly inaugurated Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur cross-border transmission line at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, India. Both the premiers pressed a switch button to inaugurate the transmission line. Prime Minister Oli is currently in Delhi on a state visit to India. The transmission line comes into operation following the bilateral power purchase agreement was signed between Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and the Indian government-owned Nodal Agency National Thermal Power Corporation Vidhyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN) on February 15. Eighty megawatt of power is to be imported from the Dhalkebar-Muzaffpur Cross Border Transmission line. The NVVN has agreed to sell power at IRN 3.44 per unit with extra Rs 1.53 per unit as leakage charge. The project was completed on February 13.
